At Waddell Phillips, we bring might to our cases. Not bluster, not bark — but the weight, wisdom, and power of our combined experience. We are completely committed, fully immersed, and formidably skilled. We are here to champion your rights.

We invite you to meet our lawyers, or contact us with any comments or inquiries.

What We Do

Waddell Phillips practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, class actions, family law, regulatory/administrative law, and human rights.

Margaret Waddell is recognized by multiple lawyer ranking agencies as a leader in the field of plaintiff-side class actions. John Phillips has been counsel on many precedent-setting cases in diverse areas of practice, and across the country. Julia Tremain came to the private practice of family law after years at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, and remains one of its most trusted outside counsel, as well as servicing a broad range of private clients.

Our Objective

Waddell Phillips’ objective is to become recognized as one of Toronto’s top litigation boutiques, trusted by private clients large and small, and confidently relied upon by other law firms to handle their conflicts or cases that are too complicated or challenging to fit in their own zone of competence.

We will continue to demonstrate leadership in plaintiff-side class actions, including taking on important cases that develop the law and provide access to justice to those who might otherwise be harmed without judicial recourse. Waddell Phillips also has a satellite office in Calgary, Alberta, which is our base for operations in Western Canada.
