Cory Wanless will speak to high school students as part of the innovative and award winning program “Law in Action Within Schools”, a partnership between Osgoode Hall Law School, the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and the Toronto District School Board designed to support, guide and motivate high school students.

Waddell Phillips to make submissions at the Ontario Court of Appeal in the matter of Hunt v. Worrod —

The Ontario Court of Appeal has granted leave to intervene to the Family Lawyers Association (“FLA”) in the case of Hunt v. Worrod. The Ontario Court of Appeal is scheduled to hear the appeal on May 16, 2019. The appeal is concerning the unprecedented decision of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to order costs against Legal Aid Ontario because of its role in providing legal aid funding in a family law matter. The FLA is represented by Cory Wanless, John Phillips, and Prashanth Chandrapal of Waddell Phillips.

January 23, 2019 – Cory Wanless to argue at the Supreme Court of Canada in the matter of Nevsun v. Araya —

On January 23, 2019, Cory Wanless will make oral submissions at the Supreme Court of Canada in the matter of Nevsun v. Araya on behalf of the intervener International Human Rights Program, University of Toronto Faculty of Law. This lawsuit is about the alleged use of forced labour and slavery at a Canadian-owned gold mine in Eritrea.  Cory is co-counsel along with Professor Audrey Macklin.
