Associate:  Civil Litigation and Class Actions

(3 -5 years’ experience)

Waddell Phillips PC is an up-and-coming, ambitious and fearless litigation boutique. We are seeking an equally ambitious and committed litigation associate.

About you:

You are an exceptionally talented (and nice) lawyer with 3-5 years of wide-ranging experience in civil litigation, preferably including class actions. You are technically proficient, entrepreneurial and tough-minded, and you thrive working in a fast-paced environment. You are a big picture thinker, and you jump at the opportunity to join an exciting and emerging firm on the ground floor.

About us:

Margaret L. Waddell, John Kingman Phillips and Julia Tremain formed Waddell Phillips in 2017 to give themselves the freedom and opportunity to pursue cases and causes in accordance with their own rules. Each partner is highly regarded as a skilled courtroom advocate and leader in his or her fields.  We have offices in Toronto, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta, and while the successful candidate will be involved in cases in each jurisdiction, the position in based in Toronto.

Our current class and mass actions cover the gamut of privacy breaches, product liability, professional liability, consumer protection, Charter breaches, securities class actions, and institutional abuse.  Our civil litigation cases involve both plaintiff and defence work across a broad spectrum and are in many jurisdictions across the country.
